Literature in Prison

Jimmy Boyle served 14 years in Scottish prisons. The press labeled him Scotland's most dangerous criminal. As part of prison reform in Scotland in the 1970's, Boyle became a sculptor, and wrote two books: A Sense of Freedom and Prison Diaries - The Pain of Confinement. On release, he continued to create art.
